A Four Session On-line Course for Spiritual Directors 

Helping Your Directees Recognize, Reflect on and Respond to God’s Presence and Action 

We’re taught that studying the three “R’s”—reading, ‘riting, and ‘rithmatic—will establish the foundation for everything else we need to learn in life!

 

In the same way, we believe there are three “R’s” that form the foundation of our spiritual direction practice: helping our directees recognize, reflect on and respond to the presence and action of God in their lives. When we learn to apply the three “R’s” framework during spiritual direction, we will increasingly discover and support our directees as they mine God’s invitations and involvement in their lives.

 

The 3 R’s of Spiritual Direction is a four- session, on-line course based on our book, When Faith Becomes Sight.

 

This course will:

1.  Introduce and illustrate the 3 "R's" of spiritual direction.

(Session One, April 16)

2. Help you assist your directees in recognizing God in the ordinary and extraordinary moments of their lives.  (Session Two, April 30)

 

3. Explore how to discern the unconscious lenses that may be distorting the directee’s image of God.

 (Session Three, May 14)

 

4. Offer several approaches to assist directees in paying attention to God at work in their inner lives.

 (Session Four, May 28)
